Inexhaustible Power Pack

"Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable" (Isa 40:28).

By Paulson Pulikottil

As we age, we grow weak; that is the law of nature from which there is no escape. Under the burden of tasks and expectations laid on them, even the young grow tired and stumble before their time arrives. We push ourselves to achieve the unachievable, to meet unrealistic targets, and to excel as top-notch performers. On this rat race, our power packs, recharged solely by our physical and mental stamina, run dry, and we collapse on the gallops.

But God, who created the universe, maintains it, and governs it with meticulous care, "does not faint or grow weary." The eternal God has immeasurable and inexhaustible power.

While the power we scrape from our physical and mental resources is not sufficient for the demands of each day, God offers us his inexhaustible power to those who trust in him.

"They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint" (Isa 40:31).

This power will enable us to soar to heights we never imagined, but it is available only to those who wait upon the Lord.

The verb wait has the nuance of trusting the Lord patiently. It implies waiting for God's way and his time in our lives. Those who set their goals according to his will and achieve them by the power he apportions to them will never collapse on the wayside.

It is essential to ask if we are chasing goals in life, work, and ministry set by God and for his glory or unrealistic targets set for our glory.

Take a moment to pause and reflect: whose goals are you pursuing — yours or God’s? Surrender your anxious striving and wait patiently on the Lord. Trust his timing, his strength, and his purposes for your life. Exchange your weariness for his inexhaustible power and rise each day not by your might but by his grace. Let today be the day you align your ambitions with his will and discover the strength that never fails.
